I picked up a new toy this weekend - a 2009 Mini Cooper Convertible, in Laser Blue. I love it, and Noah loves it too!
Unfortunately, the "blue beep-beep" as it is known didn't make a very fine introduction to Noah. Today I spent some time moving things in to the new car, and left the boot (trunk) open while doing so. Noah ran out of the house, all a-twitter about the new car, and ran SMACK into the corner of the boot.
Stunned more than harmed, he still got a pretty good gash on the side of his left eye. I have a feeling that's going to leave a permanent mark.
The injury didn't seem to affect Noah's enthusiasm over the blue beep-beep, though, and we still enjoyed a day out and about with the top down.
Noah's first scar...it breaks my heart. But, he's a boy - it's bound to happen sooner or later, and I'm sure it's going to happen again a lot.
3/31/2009Actually, that's supposed to be Noah.
Here's how this works:
Mom: What's your name?
Noah: NOAH!!
Mom: Who's that in the picture?
Noah: NOAH!!
Mom: Who's that in the mirror?
Noah: NOMA!!
NOMA NOMA NOMA NOMA Noma Noma Noma noma noma....
He sort of loses steam after a bit. But you get the picture.
NOAH!!! 3/5/2009Those were the words used to describe Noah during his first day in music class. My response?
DUH!!
The kid's been a total ham since the moment he came out of the womb. Of course he's not shy! He's OUR kid!!!
He might not be shy, but he is quite the dancer. This kid knows how to shake what the good Lord gave him. Who knows where he got that talent... 12/3/2008Our son is growing up too soon! Can you believe it - he kissed a girl! I guess we used up our Katy Perry reference too early. :)
And he likes the older ladies...the little girl he kissed was 17 months!
I hope she enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed hearing about it. I would have given anything to have seen it happen. Oh well - I know just how enticing and irresitable that little face is when he's all puckered up... 9/28/2008No, I'm not talking about the Presidential election (though that comes in close second)...
I'm talking about what the heck to dress Noah as for Halloween this year!
Do us a favor - will ya? Respond to our survey here and pick what costume "suits" him best.
Thanks!
7/20/2008Usually not in this household, but the exception had to be made sooner or later, I guess.
Noah started beef tonight, and it marks the first time I've ever cooked red meat, and the first time red meat has made an appearance on the shopping list.
He seems to like it too. Darn it.
Oh well...it's still gonna be a LONG time before those little hands wrap themselves around a hamburger... 4/18/2008
Can I just gush about how much I love my son?!?
Richard brought him by this afternoon to visit me at work, and we made the rounds so that folks around here could meet him. It didn't matter how many people held him, how many people made faces or cooing noises at him, he smiled and laughed the WHOLE time, and then sat nicely in his stroller playing with his teething blanket while daddy and I enjoyed lunch.
My kid is just freakin' awesome.
It even got to be nap time, and when a few more people wanted to hold him just a little bit longer, he happily obliged and gave them more grins and giggles.
It was also QUITE entertaining to see quote-unquote professionals completely lose their sense of decorum around a baby. Classic... 1/8/2008Today was Noah's first day in daycare. Yes, I'm still home with him, but we had to start daycare early to secure our spot, so I put him there so that we could both get used to the transition.
He loved it. I hated it (being away from him, not the daycare itself). It seems he's already making friends - not bad for a little guy who can't even sit up on his own yet!
I'll miss my little guy everyday he's there, but it's nice to know he's in good hands, even if they're not mine. 11/26/2007Noah turned one month old today...can someone please tell me what happened to the last 30 days? I seem to have lost them...
Noah and I visited Dad at work today, and had a nice lunch together with some of his friends.
I can't believe our little boy is already spoken of in terms of months! Let's hope the next 11 go by slowly enough.
11/5/2007I think Dad must have bribed Noah, because one detail that was conveniently left out of his post was that the night before, Dad went and bought HIMSELF a new car too.
Either way, though, Noah was right - I would have stolen Dad's car. :)
